Story House, an acoustic band based near Vancouver, BC, play
modern bluegrass/folk music on acoustic instruments - guitar, double
bass, banjo and mandolin - writing much of their own material. These five musicians have been active in the Pacific Northwest Roots Bluegrass scene for a long time. They have played everything from folky singer-songwriter stuff to rock and roll, jazz,
country and twin-fiddle Bill Monroe bluegrass.
They are TRUE entertainers - so suggest you get your tickets right away -
and be prepared to hum, tap and maybe even sing along with these folks!

Not many entertainers have the honour of being invited to the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame - but Diane Lines is one of those few - a STARWALK inductee. It is such is a pleasure to have the Diane Lines Trio back on our stage this April. The consummate entertainer, with great energy and diversity in each show. The TRIO will no doubt hit a 10 out of 10 again!
NOTE: Discounted YOUTH tickets for SPRING BREAK
Trio: Chelsea McBride (sax), Alvaro Rojas (guitar) and Conrad Good (bass).
Driven by an endless need for expressing herself creatively, composer and multi-instrumentalist Chelsea McBride has burst onto the Toronto jazz scene. McBride has been named one of Canada’s top 35 jazz musicians under 35 by the CBC and was the inaugural recipient of the Toronto Arts Foundation’s Emerging Jazz Artist Award. She successfully completed an 11-city cross-Canada tour with her big band, Chelsea McBride’s Socialist Night School, in the summer of 2018, and has performed at JazzYYC, the Halifax Jazz Festival, and the TD Toronto Jazz Festival among others. She’s also performed with Sarah Slean, and studied with acclaimed musicians David Occhipinti, Darcy James Argue and Mike Allen.
Born and raised in Vancouver B.C., Chelsea was surrounded and fascinated by music. She started playing piano at the age of 3, and saxophone throughout elementary school. By the end of high school she had already performed in competitions at provincial and national levels. In 2014, she graduated from the Humber Bachelor of Music program in Toronto, ON, and has since been making waves with her mature sound and multilayered approach to composition. Whether it’s her big band (Chelsea McBride’s Socialist Night School), her pop-jazz sextet (Chelsea and the Cityscape) or her jazz trio (Chelsea McBride Group), Chelsea is a diverse musician who refuses to stay in one creative box.
Individually, brothers John and Tony could each be a one man band. They hold down a rare groove with full baritone voices, shredding violas, and thunderous foot percussion. As a duo they are a force of nature. Joined by Michael Vaughan on upright and electric bass – they lay claim to a sound that is raw, groovy, and impossibly unique.
The Gallery Bistro will be closed in the daytime, Fri, March 8. So Breakfast & Lunch from 10am to 2:30pm will NOT be available.
Do take note that Friday evening's dinner concert - by Seattle's Aaron English - is happening with tickets still available. Book online here buytickets.at/gallerybistro/236600
