Gay's life growing up on Vancouver Island exploring the Gulf Islands have given her an early and enduring inspiration for imagery. Her artistic journey speaks to her relationship to “space.” With her work, she hopes to deepen our understanding of how and why”place” resonates in our being and forms who we are.
Gay Mitchell's landscapes will be complemented by the display of small sculptures she has created.

Hands That Shape Our Community Exhibition-
Extended to June 29
Inlet Artists present
Hands That Shape Our Community
Artists reception May 22, 6:30 to 8:30pm
Celebrating the talented people in our City of the Arts, the Inlet Artists work together to inspire, create and share their diverse works.
The Inlet Artists’ “Hands that Shape our Community” exhibit is a pictorial study of Port Moody area artists at work, captured by local photographers Tracy Riddell, Gerry Moss, Gaetan Royer, Rainer Daniels and Markus Fahrner.
The collaborative project seeks to highlight the way in which these artists use their hands, emphasising the process of their creation. The spirit and passion of potters, painters, sculptors, illustrators, typographers and musicians are brought to light in their raw form.
This first 'exposure' of their work will surely spark many more creative explorations. When artists inspire other artists, beautiful things happen.
